Web Design on a Budget: What Are the Must-Haves

Creating a simple, easy to use, and easy to understand experience is the challenge that every web designer faces. Though hiring a professional is not always the cheapest way to go, it is the smartest route to get the most for your money. With that being said, there are certain features that a website must have to make the public’s visitation experience enjoyable.

The first must-have is the organization of content or information. This is very crucial to the layout of the web page. Organize content in a systematic way. All the content must be aesthetically pleasing and displayed in an hierarchy of importance. This is done so that the reader will digest the important information first. Keep in mind that the more content and the longer the layout of the page, the more overwhelmed the reader will feel. The next must-have is accurate navigation icons. The reader needs to be able to navigate your website quickly and efficiently.

When considering a website, never judge web design based off of print design. The screen is a different medium of conveying information than print, the simpler it is, the easier it is to read. The most important thing to remember is that web design is not just about the bells and whistles, it is about meeting the viewer's needs.
